Hats of Love |

|
This hat was made by the ladies of Timberline Baptist Church in Lacey, WA. As this hat was being lovingly sewn, you were being prayed for. Though these ladies did not know your name, they were confident that Jesus did and the prayers for you were heard. We have prayed for you to be comforted during this difficult time and most of all that you would have a personal relationship with Jesus and a peace that comes from knowing Him that passes all understanding. Do you know that peace? Do you have peace of your future here on earth and after? One of the ladies on this special ministry team “Hats of Love” has breast cancer. She knows first hand the fears and challenges that come up with cancer and chemotherapy. Here is a note from her: “Hello, my name is Donna and I am 32 years old and have breast cancer. I was terrified when I first heard my diagnosis. I had to come to terms with the fact my life is the Lord’s loving hands. The bible verse Philippians 4:4-9 has been my signature verse (the one I continue to recall); “4 Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! 5 Let your graciousness be known to everyone. The Lord is near. 6 Don't worry about anything, but in everything, through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses every thought, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. 8 Finally brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable--if there is any moral excellence and if there is any praise--dwell on these things. 9 Do what you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, and the God of peace will be with you.’ I know that is God is calling me to show His love from this verse. I also gain the promise that He will not leave me and that through it all He will remain faithful and near. Giving to me a peace that surpasses all understanding. Before I could accept His peace I needed to give Him my heart. I told Him how much I needed Him to be the Lord of my life. That I knew for a fact that Jesus died on the cross to forgive my sins. Romans 3:23 “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” and in Romans 5:8 “But God demonstrates is own love toward us in that while we were still sinners Christ died for us”. Wow, I always had though that since I was a “good person” and that I never did anything “really bad” that I was going to go to heaven. In the Bible it clearly states that I will always fall short of the mark, in other words if I have sinned at least once I will not get to go to heaven or to have His peace while I am here on earth. In Ephesians 2:8 It says that “For it is by Grace that you have been saved through faith, and not of yourselves; it is the gift of God not of works, lest anyone should boast”. By the faith God gives me I can accept His free gift of salvation. So can you. It says in Romans 10:10-14 “10 We believe with our hearts, and so we are made right with God. And we use our mouths to say that we believe, and so we are saved. 11 As the Scripture says, "Anyone who trusts in him will never be disappointed." 12 That Scripture says "anyone" because there is no difference between those who are Jews and those who are not. The same Lord is the Lord of all and gives many blessings to all who trust in him, 13 as the Scripture says, "Anyone who calls on the Lord will be saved." 14 But before people can ask the Lord for help, they must believe in him; and before they can believe in him, they must hear about him; and for them to hear about the Lord, someone must tell them”.
